What do we do when it is too cold & snowy to go outside & play?
We have birthday parties for Dorothy the Dinosaur.
Make huge duplo towers... then we kick them over!
Make cubby houses & pretend to sleep... then we knock it down as well!
Play in the trampoline in the garage which we filled with balls we got from the 2nd hand shop. We like to fall over in here!
Do chalk drawings on the garage floor.
And we go to our new family Gymboree classes & have lots of fun climbing, jumping & running around.
It's a bit hard staying cooped up inside all day but we seem to be making the most of it.
Anyone have other inside play ideas to share with me?

I reckon you've got some great ideas Al but here's a couple more for when you run out!! :)
ReplyDelete1. Make playdough from scratch. Let the kids choose all different colours and then add glitter or rice for a bit of texture and fun. Hopefully this will lead to some great creations and hours of fun.
2. I remember spending a morning with the boys making every kids puzzle we owned and leaving them all together all over the lounge room floor. Couldn't see much carpet by the end and we had to have some pretty clear boundaries about packing them up carefully so we didn't mix the pieces but it was a lot of fun to see them all out at once.
3. Inside picnic lunch. Grabbed an old blanket and had a picnic lunch in the lounge room. The kids thought this was pretty special because normally eating in the lounge was a big no-no.
4. Coloured bath water. Add a bit of food colouring to the bath (even if it's not bath time!)and they will play for ages.
Don't know if this is any help. Winter days can be long and tricky and it's probably not as easy to rug up and play in the snow for long when they are still so little. Gymboree looks like lots of fun. Good luck Al.
