We went on a short, easy hike today with some of our new friends. Although we had 3 kids backpacks amongst 4 kids, on the last mile home, only 1 of the kids was in a pack & the rest were being carried. Not sure how that happened other than it was 5 o'clock, windy & cold.
Sam & Jamin seem pretty happy at this point.

We got to this flat section of the hike & Kael started whinging because Jamin was walking between Danny & I. We got him out of the backpack & he was so excited to be hiking like a big boy.
This is a popular climbing area (see background). Apparently on a weekend there can be up to fifty climbers packed in here. Jamin & Boston wanted to have a go too.
This is Harper, our friends dog. He is huge but very friendly. He goes on this hike pretty often & always stops to have a splash & drink in this fresh water spring. It was cold but he doesn't seem to mind! Kael was besotted with Harper & wanted me to bend down so that he could pat him every chance that we got. Harper wasn't that interested...
It was interesting at how much the scenery is changing the closer we get to winter. There aren't many leaves left on the trees so the whole place is starting to seem a bit dead. I'm sure that we will be blown away at how beautiful everything becomes when the snow arrives.
