+ birthday fun +

After a week of reflecting upon this time last year and the many changes that our family has experienced, today is the day we are celebrating Kael's first year with us. He is such a little spark of happiness & is changing so much everyday. We are full of gratitude for the gift to our family that he is.

We started off with a suprise balloon tent which was loads of fun first thing in the morning. Both of boys are maniacs about balloons (& yes we do watch them very carefully for choking hazards). Jamin had actually quietly spirited most of them away to his bedroom within the first hour. Kael didn't seem to mind.

Next came the presents. This was a new book & bag from Gran. Thankyou!

Here he is doing what most one year olds do with toys they are given. After playing with the box he climbs into it & proceeds to eat the toys.

Kael also got a very cool pair of pants from Aunty Ainsley that he put on straight away. Here they are being modelled by Jai.

Presents are followed by a special pancake breakfast made by super daddy.

A few hours later, with the arrival of Mummy's friend Merrilee, we bring out the cake for a special happy birthday song. We have to help him blow out the candle after he talks to it for a little while & then tries to grab it. Ahh 1 year olds!

Jamin, with his baby cino, waiting patiently for some cake. He helped to make it & ice it this morning. Such a great big brother!

Some of the duplo creations that we have been playing with most of the morning. I love duplo! There are not many toys that will keep big & little boys & mummy amused but duplo does!

We are planning on finishing off the day of fun with a trip to the aquarium. Should be lots of fun for little boys.
